"We were so lucky to find Anya after my mother suffered a stroke in 2021. When we began PT, she had very little ability to use her left arm & leg, but I’m happy to say she’s walking unassisted by any aids, back to her regular routine and more! We celebrated her 6-month recovery with a trip to Disney World where she walked 20,000 steps in one day. Anya’s innovative approach and steady encouragement kept us motivated, returning 3 times a week to PT for almost a year. She welcomed questions and new approaches, always pushing to find challenging exercises or ways to practice daily activities. We built such a bond that we still keep in touch, even after “graduating” from PT! We are so thankful to have her in our lives. "
"Kjersten is absolutely amazing! She is knowledgeable and compassionate with a delicate, yet firm push to keep her clients progress moving forward. She helped me tremendously and did not allow me to become complacent or stagnant in my recovery. I am immensely grateful for her!"
"I would like to give a high review to my physical therapist Kjersten Skjold. I recently got into a work accident that caused my shoulder muscles to tear. I was scheduled to attend physical therapy to help with my healing process. It’s been a while since I’ve had physical therapy and wasn’t sure what my healing process was going to look like this time. Nevertheless, Kjersten was there to guide me during my healing process. When I first met Kjersten, I was greeted with a warm smile and bright eyes that welcomes and
eases her patients. She’s very compassionate and caring. She always greets everyone and checks in to see how her patients are doing physically, mentally and emotionally. She spends quality time with you and talks with you during each session in a professional and friendly manner. She has a very positive and realistic outlook when it comes to assisting her patients during their therapy sessions, despite how hard it can be to gain rehabilitation and movement. Furthermore, she’s very knowledgeable about her practice. She has pointed out the probable cause and issues. She makes sure that her patients understand what she's doing, so that you’re aware of what's going on and how it’s helping you. At the end of every session, she checks in and sees if there’s any improvements. She’s always developing her practice as she’s always open to take suggestions and seeks patient feedback. Overall, I’ve had many encounters with physical therapists considering my medical history involving surgeries, and by far she's the one who I’ll remember and would highly recommend."
"I had the pleasure of working with Kjersten this year, while based in San Leandro. I was referred to her by a friend from my gym, and selected the 6-visit plan, which I attended over several months due to my work schedule. Kjersten was the model of professional and competent, and warm care, and helped me deal with several muscular issues that previous PTs had been unable to address. Her ability to listen and work with both trauma histories and physical ability helped immensely, and she was able to put me at ease whilst working through some painful scar tissue, handling my body with respect and guiding me through breathing exercises that helped me take my first full and easy breath in years. The sessions were reasonably priced given the variety of services she offered, and her flexibility in selecting a payment schedule around my budget and time was incredibly helpful. She offers plans of care rather than individual sessions, which helped me stay semi-consistent in going, and gave me a clear timeline to work on my issues in between sessions. Were it not for her moving out-of-state, I would definitely return for additional sessions, now that I’ve regained hip and spinal flexibility I once lost. "
"After having a life changing stroke, my doctors weren't sure I would make it back to 100%. I came home with a walker and needed to relearn basic life functions. Through my PT and OT office I was lucky enough to meet Kjersten and Anya. After a full year of rehab and working together, they pushed me back to 100%. I made so much progress, I was even able to return to work. I truly believe I couldn't have done it without them, and an agility ladder. "
"I am in the middle of my second round of PT with Kjersten. Both episodes have been for the rehabilitation of a herniated disc. I have seen her at different phases of my recovery, and each time, Kjersten's designed exercise programs that target my changing needs, from the acute phase to strengthening. In sessions, she answers my questions thoughtfully and thoroughly, and always explains her rationale behind each exercise.
Since she now lives in the Pacific Northwest, I currently see Kjersten remotely. I was initially worried that remote sessions would not hold as much quality, but my experience has been the opposite-- sessions have been great! Kjersten always took my lifestyle as the parent of a toddler into account. Now that she can see my home, she recommends even more functional exercises and movements that incorporate the furniture and (limited) equipment I have. Kjersten also returns to the Bay often and offers in-person sessions whenever she is in town.
Kjersten came highly recommended by a friend, and I have (and will continue) to recommend her to others."
"You're just the best Kjersten! Meticulous, diligent, polite, great bedside manner, patient, friendly, absolutely delightful, AND an expert at what you do! Mostly thank you for reaching out when I had a senior moment today and completely forgot about our appointment!! I felt heard, I trusted your advice, and I'm eager to work on what you said I should! Thank you for following up as you said you would with the exercise schedule!
Best Wishes! "
"Kjersten has been so helpful in treating me to improve pain and function. After a bicycle accident I’d been dealing with chronic pain, tightness, weakness, clumsiness that had been worsening over many years and I never thought I would see improvement or any return to previous function. I’d been to many other healthcare providers before and have often been dismissed with limited treatment options offered. Where numerous providers including neurologists and other PTs told me I had full strength, Kjersten identified specific neuromuscular dysfunction that was causing me problems in daily activities and recreation. She used a variety of creative methods to target these and I saw results rapidly. She pushed me but always within my ability. I would highly recommend getting physical therapy at NeuroRx!"
"I love Dr. Kjersten Skjold and highly recommend NeuroRx PT! I started seeing Dr. Kjersten after injuring my shoulder in a bad fall in April 2023. After an initial assessment, she put together a 10-visit comprehensive plan for my recovery that included weekly sessions and at-home exercises for strength, mobility, and pain relief. She is both personable and knowledgeable, and always listened closely to my responses and feedback during our sessions. My shoulder has since fully recovered thanks to her help and guidance!"
"Dr coach fixed my back, fixed my knee, and fixed my relationship the gym. I'm still single and she can't fix that pain. But anything else and she's got you covered!"
"Dear Dr. K,
As time goes by I am so much improved. I do not have that pinched nerve pain that I had since the day of my injury. I use to sneeze and cough and flinch at the pain. I sneezed and nothing hurt me. So I can honestly say you're the master of your craft. Thank you so much. I needed to get back to my job."
